How to create an item

Every item or character is made of a number of bones with attached images (let’s call them elements). This is a short tutorial on how to draw elements and assemble them into a character.

You can create an item from scratch or to use one of the provided templates

Every item has a base point that cannot be moved. All elements are linked to this point

Drawing elements

To create a new element click the blue button in the top right corner of the screen. In the opened graphics editor (described in the next chapter) you will see a black horizontal line representing a bone that your drawing will be attached to.

When you are done with drawing, click the “Done” button (at the top right corner). A new element will be created and added to the library of elements. To attach an element to the item just select a point and click the element.

The library of elements has a context menu with a few additional actions (copy, edit, attach). You can also perform a long click on an element to edit it.

Editing the skeleton

In the left bottom corner of the screen you can find several tools for working with bones and points.

Delete the selected point. This action also deletes all descendant points. No worries, it can be undone

Point properties (see the next chapter)

Bring the selected element to the front or to the back

Point properties

Perhaps you’ve already noticed the some items can be attached to other. For example, a sword can be put into knight’s hand and wheels can be attached to a car. If you want your items to have such abilities, you will need to set some properties.

Select a point (a hand for example) and click the green cog icon to open a dialog box.

Master. If you mark a point as Master, you will be able to attach other items to it.

Slave. That means the entire item can be attached to another point (that is marked as Master). Only the base point can be marked as Slave

Sometimes (especially in the case of complex skeleton) you might need to mark a point as “invisible” making it impossible to touch and drag it

Graphics editor

Below is the description of available tools. Note that to open some of them, you will need to perform a long click on the Paint Bucket.

Simple Brush. A small but useful feature for it is putting some distance between your finger and the actual point of drawing (long click opens a setting)

The Paint Bucket tool allows you draw filled areas. Double tap other elements to color them

Eraser

 Circle, Rectangle, Straight Line

This is a tool for cutting out pictures (faces for example)

Transforming the entire picture (rotating, resizing, moving)

Undo

Erase all

Set background color. This tool is available only when you are drawing a background.

Done. Closes the editor and creates an element

Сохранение и использование

When your item is ready, put it into one of the available slots.

It can be found in the folder “Custom items”
